Stress

Our Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health. They can treat stress, with numerous types of medication and psychotherapy. Choosing the best treatment for the patient will depend on their specific needs.

Why does stress occur, and how can we deal with it?

Stress, in its broadest sense, is the reaction to situations that one perceives as endangering their physical or mental health. Stress can be brought on by daily struggles, interpersonal issues, and challenging social situations. However, stress in general is good. A certain amount of stress is healthy for a person and may aid in achieving peak performance and handling minor crisis.

However, stress can turn into “distress” when a person is continuously faced with obstacles without rest or relaxation, and the expression of this stress can cause the body to wear out physically and psychologically.

General or specific disorders of the body and mind can be directly or indirectly exacerbated by stress.

At MG “Your Story Matters”, we make time and allow our clients to relax before moving on to any treatment plans. Initially we undertake a stress-based history from our clients to complete a series of assessments. By focusing on our patients’ inherent strengths, we are able to assess which multidisciplinary or comprehensive treatment is suitable for our client’s stress management.

We offer our client a variety of psychological therapies. Treatments such as CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), Interpersonal therapy and Relaxation training are included to address the individual’s behavioral and cognitive aspects, hence enabling them to lead a healthy and balanced life.
